in 18k gold, inscribed on the shank R.M.S. CARPATHIA / APR.15 1912, contained in original fitted plush-lined case with maker's marks for 'Jay's, London' -- 1½in. (4cm.); 16.7g.

Inscribed with the date of the Titanic's foundering, it is at present unknown why this commemorative anchor was commissioned. At least one other example is known suggesting a small run was produced.
