unsigned, constructed in fruitwood and comprising nine four-sided rods and one table-sized rod (for square and cube roots), set on sliding tray with index and contained within a book-shaped case lined with a 'Cambridge Panel'-type binding and sliding retainer (one rod missing; loose sliver by retainer) -- 3½ x 2¼in. (9 x 5.7cm.)

Unconserved; two hairline cracks along edges of spine; loose sliver by retaining board with cracks by pins both sides. Rods and tray in fine condition.
