A KRIEGSMARINE EIGHT DAY SHIP'S WARDROOM CLOCK, CIRCA 1940
with 7in. silvered dial marked with Kriegsmarine emblem, winding arbor to going barrel movement, mounted within an octagonal wooden case with removable rear access panel, provenance note and lug for bulkhead suspension -- 11in. (28cm.) wide

Provenance: Surgeon Lieutenant Edward G. Sita, R.N.V.R and thence by descent.

Lt. Sita was serving on H.M.S. Wrester when he was seconded to Naval Intelligence landing forces and was amongst the first to enter the dockyards at Wilhelmshaven in the summer of 1945 and from where he liberated this clock. It has been with the family ever since and remains in excellent original condition.
