A typical passenger/cargo ship, the S.S. Guardiana was built by Palmers of Jarrow and launched in 1906 for the British Maritime Trust Ltd. She was purchased by Houlder Bros & Co., renamed Sutherland Grange in 1911 and broken up in 1933 at Rosyth.
