the 55in. laminated and carved hull with bilge keels and gold-plated propellers, varnished decks with lined sections and hatch covers, silvered fittings as appropriate throughout, davit arrays with rigging, bridge with fire buckets, binnacle and telegraph, open boats in davits, stayed funnel with hooter, engine room lights, mortar tanks and much other fine detailing, mounted on four ebonised columns to display base with ivorine builder's plate within original glazed wooden case with finials -- 24 x 66 x 17½in. (61 x 167.5 x 44.5cm.); together with an associated modern stand -- 30in. (76cm.) high

Leighton was scuttled with gas munitions in 1947; Linnell was broken up at Troon in August 1939 after suffering stranding damage at Alexandria earlier that year; Lassell was en route from Liverpool to South America with general cargo when she was torpedoed 300 miles SW of Cape Verde by U-107 on 30th April 1941. She sunk in ten minutes, stern first. The S.S. Benvrackie picked up her Captain (A.R.Bibby) and twenty-five men, however, fifteen of this number were lost when that too was torpedoed on the 13th of May. The Chief Officer and the rest of the crew were rescued in their boat by SS Egba.
