the five-stage tapering barrel signed by trunnions P. SEEST AO 1764, device for the Amsterdam East India Company, touch hole within raised diamond rim, and rounded cascabel -- 48in. (122cm.) overall

Peter Seest was head of the Amsterdam gun foundry in the latter half of the 18th Century. Other examples of his work dated for 1770 and 1771 may be found in the Army Museum, Madrid.
