The cruiser Aurora is most famously associated for firing the (blank) shots early in the morning of the 7th of November 1917 signaling the Bolshevik uprising against the Provisional Government of Alexander Kerensky. The Bolsheviks ordered her preservation as a museum ship to commemorate their victory and she remains in St. Petersburg to this day and is a very rare example of a pre-Dreadnought.
