Hans Hamilton (1888–1960), co-owner of Bloodhound between 1939-1947 and thence by descent.
Designed by Charles Nicholson and built by Camper & Nicholson in 1936, Bloodhound was a 63-foot ocean racing yacht. Between 1962-1969 she was owned by the Royal Family and accompanied Britannia on their annual cruises to the Western Isles where she was used for pleasure and to teach the Royal children sailing. She was also successfully raced at Cowes by Prince Philip, with Uffa Fox crewing. In 2010 she was bought by the Royal Yacht Britannia Trust and is now moored alongside her old consort in Leith, Scotland.
