DUKE OF YORK ON 26TH DECEMBER 1943, DURING THE ACTION IN WHICH THE GERMAN BATTLE CRUISER 'SCHARNHORST' WAS SUNK and faintly inscribed in pencil behind 'P6964', the flag -- 68 x 140in. (173 x 355.5cm.); the box -- 6 x 16 x 10½in. (15.5 x 40.5 x 27cm.)
