Watercolour
18 x 25in. (46 x 63.5cm.)

Built in 1879 for J.B. Perret by Mitchell & Co, Newcastle, she was originally launched as the Nora, a three-masted iron hulled yacht registered at 176'8" with a 26'15" beam, draught of 13'4" and 529 tons. In 1888 she was bought by D.H. Macfarlane and renamed the Hiawatha and it was probably Macfarlane who commissioned this typical product of the De Simone workshop.
