A FINE 1:48 SCALE MODEL OF THE 44-GUN AMERICAN FRIGATE CONSTITUTION ("OLD IRONSIDES"), [1797]

modelled by Georgio Opletal, Genoa, c. 1976, in oak, ash and walnut, the planked and framed 22in. hull, with gilt-wire decoration to stern, open gun ports with brass guns, anchors with bound wooden stocks, chain plates with deadeyes, hammock racks, gratings, belaying rails with brass pins, stove pipe, fitted boats in chocks, capstan, double helm and other details, bound masts with standing and running rigging, block, yards with stun's'l booms, American flags, the foremast flag inscribed FREE TRADE AND SAILORS RIGHTS, mounted on turned supports within glazed wooden case -- 30 x 42 x 15½in. (76 x 107 x 39.5cm.)
