approximately sixty-five yachting related images bound between quarter calf, green cloth covers; a folder of approximately ten 9 x 11in. yachting photographs by West and Son for the Isle of Wight, Beken and Son and Kirk of Cowes etc., a copy of The Yachtsman, an album of collotype images appearing to show scenes from Cowes Week, a copy of Yacht Architecture Volume Two by Dixon Kemp for 1897 (disbound) and three test logs kept by Dixon for yachting trials and dated 1932-3; 1934-5-6; 1937-8-9, together with a lever arch folder of research into Kemp's career

Capt. Richard Travers Dixon (1866-1949) left the army in the late 1890s and is understood to have taken up professional yacht helming for the rest of his life. He participated in the 1908 Olympics at which he won a gold medal for his part in the team winning the 7 metre class racing.
