the 4in. silvered dial signed and numbered as per title, up/down and subsidiary second dials, blued spade hands, Earnshaw escapement with bi-metallic balance, steel helical balance, jewelled locking stone, stamped '10824' on back plate with counter stamp inside bowl, gimbal-mounted within three-tier mahogany box with numbered ivorine maker's plate to middle section, approximately -- 7in. (18cm.) square

The movements for Ray & Co. chronometers were provided by Mercers and their number (10824) corresponds to manufacture in 1917.
