THE BRIDGE BELL FROM THE S.S. CITY OF GLASGOW
cast in brass and inscribed CITY OF GLASGOW over an arc in black-filled lettering, red-painted interior, complete with clapper -- 6 x 6in. (15 x 15cm.)

By hearsay, this bell is from the Inman liner of 1850, lost 1854 with all hands; a more likely candidate is a 267 ton trawler of 1897 built by Mackie & Thomson.
Estimated at £200 - £400

No structural problems, some black filling missing and red paint chipped internally, clapper rusted.
