with 3¾in. diameter silvered Roman dial, 56-hour up/down ring, signed WEBSTER & SON./Cornhill/LONDON, gold hands, numbered '912' to the centre of the seconds ring, chain fusee with Earnshaw-type escapement, cut bimetallic balance with blued-steel helical spring, contained in a brass bowl and gimbal, within the three-tier box (replaced lid) with recessed brass side handles, bone plaque to the front inscribed '912', the box -- 7in. (18cm.) square
