the ebonised T-frame with polished brass arc signed Troughton London and inscribed Platina and with later owner's stamp EE the inset scale divided to 150°, vernier with bridge mounted swivelling magnifier, braced index arm, two mirrors, seven shades, contained within fitted keystone case with securing hook -- 10in. (25.5cm.) wide

Condition Report

Handle cracked; frame probably originally oxidised brass and now ebonised - paint has some wear and chipping and some verdigris by handle brackets; platinum scale in good condition; brass arc polished and signature worn; shades and mirrors in good order; Box lacks lock and also with later ebonising externally; two sighting tubes - one with lenses and one missing optics.
