Initially intended for trade in the West Indies, the brig Martha was launched on 25 December 1838. Registered at 248 tons and owned by Lee and Co. of Liverpool, Martha traded to Chile and Peru between the years 1847 and 1850. She was lost and never heard from again in 1850.
