A LATE 19TH-CENTURY STATIC DISPLAY MODEL OF THE RAMSGATE FISHING SMACK PATIENCE, PENNANT NUMBER R249
the hull carved from the solid, lead keel and rudder, refinished in pink and green with original black topsides inscribed R.249, the scored deck with fittings including anchor, chains and sail winches, covered hatches, working mechanical capstan, stovepipe, companionways with sliding hatch cover, carved tiller and other details, the masts with standing running rigging and full suit of ochre coloured canvas sails, mounted on black painted cradle base (overall restoration) -- 57 x 67in. (145 x 170cm.)

Model was discovered in an attic in the mid 1980s and was the subject of a complete restoration; hull has been repainted with the exception of the topsides; new masts, rigging and sails, although the original sails are retained and come with the model.
