signed on the plate as per title, lacquered brass fittings, stamped on cross bar Pat. No. 22556., clockwork motor in recorder drum, aneroid mechanism in base, cased in oak with glazed cover -- 7½ x 12½ x 6½in. (19 x 32 x 16.5cm.)

This method of hiding the mechanism in the base was patented in 1904.

Clockwork mechanism sticky - needs a clean; otherwise in good original condition. The paper on the drum is dated for 1963 which is when the vendor claims it was last used.
