A DETAILED 1:200 SCALE WATERLINE SHIP MODEL OF THE GERMAN POCKET BATTLESHIP SCHARNHORST DEPICTED IN BALTIC LIVERY [1940]
the 45in. hull carved from the solid, with scored wooden decks, main armament with red tops, secondary armament and fittings in wood and metal, spotter plane on ramp, tripod mast with lanyards, depicted at speed in a moulded painted seascape within glazed wooden case with brass plate -- 15 x 52 x 10½in. (38 x 132 x 26.5cm.)
The red-painted casements were intended to prevent friendly fire.
