Lord Nelson and General Clarke presented a petition from Colonel Despard to the King at the levee on Wednesday.

In all 8 lines on page 3, column 3, in a complete issue of the Edinburgh Evening Courant, dated the 21st of February, 1803; together with The Execution of Colonel Despard

The Colonel went to the scaffold dressed in boots, a dark brown great coat,his hair unpowdered, and makes a great speech: Fellow Citizens, I came here as you see after having served my country faithfully, honourably, and usefully served it for 30 years and upwards, to suffer death upon a scaffold for a crime of which I protest I am not guilty…
