H.M.S. Dorsetshire, a heavy cruiser of the 'County' class, was commissioned 30 September 1930. She was instrumental in the sinking of the German battleship Bismarck in the North Atlantic along with Rodney, King George V, and Norfolk in 1941. Dorsetshire and her sister ship Cornwall, were sunk in the Indian Ocean by Japanese dive-bombers in 1942.
