A FINE SCRATCH-BUILT LIVE STEAM 1:8 SCALE RADIO CONTROL MODEL OF THE LAUNCH AVONDALE [1880]
modelled by D. Jacques, circa 1980, with 58in. planked and framed hull secured with trennels and fully fitted interior, Stuart Turner-based engine with ¾ bore and stroke connected to mahogany-lagged dry-back return flue boiler with diagonal cross tubes and raked brass funnel, dummy safety valve and whistle, single prop shaft with disengaging clutch and variable three-blade brass propeller on rack and pinion forward-reverse system, and other fine details, mounted on cradle stand -- 17½ x 58 x 11in.
